Proverbs 31:12, All the Days of her Life

Spread the love

ALL the days of her life.

What about them?

Well, Proverbs 31:11 says that,

Of course the church will bring Jesus GOOD all the days of her life!!!!

But, then I was reminded of a story from my teenage years.

She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life

Proverbs 31:11, KJV

When I saw this verse I thought, eureka, something I can actually do!

After all, doing Jesus “good” is easy, right?

The thought had no sooner crossed my mind before the image of a rhinestone Jesus pin flashed before my eyes.

During my teenage years, I worked at Wal-Mart. I worked a variety of positions during my five years of duty there but, on the fateful day sealed in my memory, I was working at the service desk.

On this specific Sunday a lady in a dressy suit approached the service desk, shoe box in hand.

She laid the , none to gently, on the counter and informed me that she wanted a refund. Of course, she had no receipt.

I opened the box and was greeted by a pair of shoes that had clearly been worn……a LOT! I chewed my lip nervously. A quick check of the computer verified that these shoes were over a year old. Something we no longer sold.

With a deep breath, I looked up at the lady and said, “I’m sorry ma’am but I cab’t give you a refund. You have no receipt and we no longer carry these shoes.

I watched warily as the woman’s face contorted in anger. I knew that she would ask to speak to a manager but was caught completely by surprise when she threw the spike heeled shoe at my head.

She had on the Jesus pin, the nice outfit, and every hair was in place. Did she do Jesus good that day…not in my opinion!

Do I do Jesus “good” when I get angry in traffic or when I snap my husband’s head off in anger???

To do Jesus “good” would be to do things that don’t bring negative press to his name.

If you’re anything like me you’re squirming a bit right now! Do I do Jesus good or evil with my words and actions? Something to think about, pray about, and grow in!
